How I Taught My Grandmother To Read And Other Stories - A Book Review

How I Taught My Grandmother To Read And Other Stories

Sudha Murthy

I read this book when I was 10 years old, in my Summer Holidays of 2016. This book is about Sudha Murthy teaching her grandmother to read Kannada, but there are also many other stories in this book.

I like the way she frames sentences. It helps me build my vocabulary. I also like the way she narrates her stories. There is no written moral at the end of her stories. You have to come up with your own moral. Most of her books have sold over 1,50,000 (One lakh fifty thousand) or 150,000 (One hundred fifty thousand) Copies sold. In a few stories, she teaches us about things like "Money can't buy happiness" and "Rich people are usually scared to start a new venture. They think if the venture fails, they will lose their money".

If you want to read about all these stories, you need to purchase this book. I recommend this book to children of my age, because I think it will build their vocabulary.
